They say home is where the heart is…
January 13, 2018

…my heart says let us build homes that make this true for every MAG Lifestyle Development resident.
Let’s say you wish to narrate the story of your life. Where would you begin? Which points would you highlight and where would you finish? Many of you would normally start with your hometowns, describing your earliest memories in your childhood homes. You might talk about the moments you remember spent with your friends and family, incorporating the details of your living room couches, dining room chairs, kitchen floors, bedroom walls and much more — even down to the exact colour and position of everything in the rooms. You would likely talk about the time you moved to another city and how you felt in your new house, and how it came to be your new home; often ending with where you currently live, admitting “this place here is home now”. When narrating this story, while you may not normally recall the details of your neighbourhood restaurant or local shop, your homes would be remembered in vivid detail.
Over the years, I’ve come to realise that the fundamental truth of the property industry is that the physical spaces we build become homes around which people’s lives revolve.
It is easy to forget in the day-to-day chaos of maximising unit sizes and gauging construction materials that what we are building is the defining factor in someone’s life. The simple truth is that as developers we have the privilege of being part of people’s life-stories. When it comes to choosing whether to play the hero who provides better quality homes that will be fondly remembered, or maximising profit margins on our balance sheets, for me the decision is a simple one.
In every project that I envision and take on to develop, I ensure that there is something more that I provide in them – something that becomes the highlight of someone’s life. Whether that is watching the sun set over the pristine blue lake waters in MBL Residence, having the sunlight brighten your home all day with auspiciously designed townhouses in MAG EYE, candle-lit dinners overlooking the Burj Khalifa or waking up to the sun rising over the sparkling Dubai Water Canal in MAG 318 – there are multiple elements to every project that add a special touch to people’s lives.
I’ve previously touched upon our customer-centric approach, and why I call myself a developer only when I hand over the keys. This is because my customers’ happiness determines my success on the bottom line, and adds value to my visions. At MAG, we know that the spaces we build will house people’s dreams and aspirations, and define their lifestyles. This insight and our commitment to being truly customer focused have led to a turning point in our journey as a developer. Now we identify purely from the perspective of our customers, with a vision to exceed their expectations and provide more than just spaces for homes. We are taking a leap into the future by adding to our focus the development of projects that provide better lifestyle opportunities for the residents.
These projects in particular are not only just about luxury finishes, multiple amenities and fully-equipped health clubs; they are also about creating wellness-focused developments that follow international Delos™certified standards of quality control, and homes that present healthier lifestyle prospects by being situated alongside the city’s green belt. With this, we have now truly embraced the future of homes, which is why we have become MAG Lifestyle Development.
For nearly every person, homes are the most significant investments of their lives, whether they are an asset to eventually lease out or a place to live in themselves. At MAG Lifestyle Development, we know that for whatever purpose our properties are purchased, ultimately people from all over the world will be building their homes in them and writing the next chapter of their life-stories.
